If you are thinking of visiting soon we recommend you to visit the British Government website to keep up to date with possible changes in COVID regulations.

In our social media we have shown you different views of the British Virgin Islands. For those who do not know them, they are a group of 60 paradisiacal islands in the Caribbean that remain virgin and immaculate and with little tourist traffic.

The best way to get to know them is by boat. Trips are organized to visit them from other points of the Caribbean, but nothing is comparable to being owner of your own time and the protagonist of the trip. In Hostandboat we offer you the option of designing your own trip, choosing the boat that will become your home the next vacation.

We want to help you organize the trip, and in this post we will recommend the visits and activities that you can’t do when you go to the islands.

Tortola

It is the largest of the British Virgin Islands. Its volcanic origin makes it very special. It is located on a fault line, so there may be occasional earthquakes, although of low frequency.

A curiosity is that it is thought to have been discovered and named by Christopher Columbus as Turtle Dove.

On this island is the capital of the British Isles: Road Town.  It has a population of about 15 000 inhabitants.

Sumggler’s Cove, Tortola

According to Tripadvisor’s reviews, it is in the top 3 of the activities you can’t miss in Tortola.

It is a paradise for snorkeling and diving lovers. It is one of the best beaches on the island and is not overcrowded by tourism.

Virgin Gorda

The Baths

It is one of the most iconic places in the British Virgin Islands. They were declared National Heritage in 1990 to preserve the bay and its stones, one of the main attractions of the place. They are granite rocks that create natural transparent pools that are a must for snorkeling and diving lovers.

Wreck of the Chikuzen

It is a must for diving lovers. It is a place little traveled by tourists but it is recommended that you have experience in this activity because it is not an easy visit. It is not only a visual spectacle – it is practically intact -, it is also a natural spectacle because the shipwreck attracts marine animals of all kinds.

It is recommended that the visit is made when the sea is calm, otherwise the experience is complicated.

Virgin Gorda Peak National Park

Not everything is sea and water on this trip. For tourists who also like nature on land. The trails will take you to the highest point of Isla Virgen Gorda, where you will enjoy views of many of the islands in the area.

A lush green vegetation contrasts with the transparent blue of the island’s waters, offering leisure activities for all tastes.

This is our list of British Virgin Islands must-sees. At Hostandboat.com you can discover the best way to get to know this Caribbean paradise: the private boat. You will be the owner of your trip: you organize the routes and impose the schedules and activities that you want. In this way, the sea itself will be your home: forget about overcrowded resorts and meeting hundreds of tourists!
