About the experience
The vessel is located up the New River near downtown Fort Lauderdale; we have about an hour to the ocean; the trip up the River is wonderful with lots of mega houses and yachts to see as well as the beautiful South Florida landscaping. The boat trip is focused on sailing but some guests prefer just to travel up and down the waterways, maybe stopping at a waterfront eatery for lunch or early dinner. If you would like to learn some sailing, the Captain would be happy to teach you and your guests; take the helm and enjoy the feel of commandering a ten ton vessel. Weather dependant, we can put the ladder down and do some swimming or snorkeling. Just being on the yacht and enjoying South Florida weather is a treat. Plenty of place to just stretch out. Make yourself comfortable down below. She has a wonderful bathroom for your convenience. Most of the sailing is up and down the coast adjacent to Fort Lauderdale Beach. If the winds are more favorable, a trip out to the Cobalt Blue Gulfstream is a treat. Come and make yourself at home aboard my boat. When you charter my boat, you and your guests are the only people on the boat. One passenger or six, there is one total price for all.
About the Host
Your Host, your Captain has been sailing for a long long time. First boat at 14 was an 8ft wooden pram; since then, 12', 16', 20', 24', 28', 32', 36', 39', and 40'. My sailing has taken myself and my wife to the Bahamas many many times; favorite trip has been the Keys with stopovers at Key West. My professional life up to retirement was hardwood flooring contractor in Dade County; I built an excellent business and when I sold the company and took full pension, I decided I wanted to do something that was fun and would keep me on the water. I am a people person; I find joy in meeting every person. My passengers from 370 charters the past 2 1/2 years have been from all over the world. Although I only speak English with a dash of Spanish, communicating has never been an issue. I am United States Coast Guard Licensed OUPV 50 tons with the Sailing Endorsement. My seamanship skills are excellent; your safety and comfort are always my #1 concerns.
