About the experience

Dream holiday in Bonaire, the Caribbean

This holiday in Bonaire is planned to show you the true essence of this Caribbean paradise, in company of sailing skippers with love for the hospitality, sea, Sun, sailing, coasts and sea depths. Specifically, the travel itinerary is to visit the best of the west, south and north of Bonaire.

The first day is focus on the West of the island. We will pick you up from the airport, or place of stay and check in. We can take the opportunity to do some shopping, investigate the boat and give the required safety indications on board a boat, as your comfort and security is the most important thing to us. In the afternoon we will set off for a walk to Klein Bonaire, one of the most beautiful places in Bonaire for snorkeling. At the end of the afternoon, the captain leaves the ship for your privacy.

The second day we will visit the South of Bonaire. We will start after lunch, so you can have a relaxing time in the morning, or snorkel around the boat. Afterwards, we will have a few hours of exciting sailing, which will take us to the incredible views of the Bonaire salt flats. We can always make stops for snorkeling in special places. We will come back watching the sunset over the sea.

On the last day we sail to the North and if sea conditions allow us, we will visit the Washington Slagbaai National Park and snorkel in the most turquoise waters of this Caribbean island.

Sailing in a boat with skipper

The Tayana 42 sailboat measures 12.8 meters (42 feet), is from 1988 and has two cabins with a double bed in each, accommodating up to 4 crew members. The boat has no air conditioning, but fans.

If at the end of the three-day Caribbean route you want to extend for a couple of extra days just tell us. Any request you have you just have to let us know! We will do anything to make a holiday adapted to your needs.

In the evenings the boat is moored to a marina or private mooring buoy and the captain leave the boat, you will be allow to use a small raft to transport you to the coast in case you want to visit the streets of Bonaire or eat in its restaurants.

Each day there will be 6 hours of sailing with the captain, but in the evenings you will enjoy the privacy and calm of the sea with the boat at your disposal. You can cook on the sailing boat, take the option to hire a private chef or visit the restaurants on the Caribbean coast. Meals are not included but a welcome package with some food on the first day.

The trip does not include the marine fees of the ports (25$ per person). Water sports equipment such as kayaks, paddle boards or fishing are available for an extra price. Snorkeling equipment is included. Optional car rental with extra price.

About the Host

Skipper of a historic 1988 sailboat

I came to this natural paradise of the Caribbean 20 years ago and I fell in love with its sea and its lands. My profession as a Mechanical Engineer helped me to restore this nautical treasure of 1988 and to be able to navigate in a unique and safe way this precious sea that I hope to show you.

I am passionate about teaching the corners of this island and having adventures on the Caribbean sea, although I also always wear a pair of dance shoes for a night in Bonaire. If you want to know the deep sea of the island, or its emblematic tourist spots both on land and on the sea, I will be happy to be your captain in this emblematic and historic boat that will be yours too for this holiday.
