* It is not necessary to have a skipper's permit or license to rent this boat. You don't need sailing experience to enjoy a well-deserved sailing vacation. When you get to the base, you will be given a very detailed tutorial on all aspects of your ship. After your navigation course, you will be given a temporary permit that lasts only for the days of your vacation.

From Decize you will start this adventure, a journey to the north, will take you through the mountainous countryside and pretty villages of the Nivernais Valley, while the historic town of Nevers is just 6 hours to the west. Decize is the perfect starting point if you want to discover the southern part of the Nivernais. The cities are full of historic abbeys, cathedrals and museums, ideal for history lovers. Roanne is a delight to explore, although you’ll need two weeks to get there and return by boat!

The base of return is Tannay. You are in the heart of the valleys and hills of the Nivernais region. This part has many locks, in both directions to the north or south, but you will be rewarded with stunning scenery. Clamecy is a very beautiful city, you can enjoy an impressive fauna and flora and is an ideal place to take a refreshing bath. At 23 minutes by taxi from Tannay, we recommend visiting the village of Vézelay, which houses the Basilica Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
