9 TIPS at times of Coronavirus, home office and  kids at home

In these pandemic days, many are lucky  and can continue their work from home. While others, such as health personnel, logistics services, for example, cannot. And every day they must move to their jobs putting their lives and that of their families at risk.

In addition, the home office or teleworking is, until now, quite unknown to many. In our case, we have been  sailing 12,000 miles in these almost 4 years, we do boatoffice (telework on board ) while our daughter María Paz studies the Argentine school remotely.

When we started this adventure, she was such small.

She is in 1st year of high school. And it is the 4th that studies under the On Line Distance Education System.

From the boat, I am a mother and her teacher, and I am her facilitator so that she can acquire the knowledge proposed by the Argentine distance education system, which is 100% digital.

I share some tips and experiences lived while we work, study and navigate that have been very useful to us and that can help them to pass this pandemic at home without dying in the attempt

  1. We organize the week from Monday to Friday with fixed times for all of us who will live together on the ship.
  2. We put the alarm clock on. If we are going to start at 8, we don’t get up at 7:59
  1. We plan a space for breakfast, to have a few breaks, to have lunch and to finish the work day. At that moment everything related to work is extinguished, otherwise we will see that work absorbs us all the time.

4. We take off our pajamas, and put on comfortable clothes. Thus we separate our work day from our personal affairs.

    1. We have a space on the boat for each one to do their homework. Sometimes we even share the same table in the living room.

  1. We define a schedule for them to play with their screens on social networks, online games, etc. We discover Mobbyt, a platform for creating and publishing educational video games and advergames. A way for them to play creating and learning. María Paz already created her first two online games. And of course, they are sailingboats !!!

7. We assign age-appropriate responsibilities at home

8.We organize the day together.

9. We make sure that social isolation is only physical: we create happy hours, virtual pajamas, videoconferences, study together in virtual form, virtual snacks

All of us are going to #stayathome.
